The World Integrated Trade Solution (WITS) is a software platform developed by the World Bank in collaboration with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and other international organizations. WITS provides access to a comprehensive collection of international merchandise trade, tariff, and non-tariff measures (NTM) data.
It integrates multiple databases, including:
- UN Comtrade: Offers detailed merchandise trade data by commodity and partner country, with records since 1962.
- UNCTAD TRAINS: Contains tariff and non-tariff measures data for over 160 countries, including preferential regimes.
- WTO IDB and CTS: Includes import data by commodity and partner countries, and various tariff data.
The features built-in analytical tools that allow users to perform custom analyses, such as assessing the impact of tariff changes, generating trade statistics, and simulating tariff cut impacts on trade flows and revenues. Users can execute queries to retrieve and analyze industry data at various levels of detail using different product classifications.
